Vid A. Bahadur
Vid A. Bahadur is the Regional Director at the NJ Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at New Jersey City University (NJCU) in Hudson County.
Vid has served the Hudson County community for the past 24 years through his tenure at New Jersey City University. He led NJCU to the highest Graduate Enrollments in its history. While doing so, he petitioned senior administration to increase community access to higher education by removing barriers such as standard test requirements.
Prior to joining NJSBDC at NJCU, Vid co-founded and serves as the Director for NJCU’s Center for Workforce & Community Development. His team specializes in workforce readiness, skills training, employer engagement and job training. Through these capacities, Vid is positioned to drive economic mobility and transform lives for Hudson County residents and beyond. Vid is a member of the Hudson County Workforce Leadership Academy, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
Juan Medina is the Operations Director at the NJ Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at New Jersey City University (NJCU) in Hudson County. Since 2010, Juan has been responsible for the expansion of the Hispanic outreach program due to his strong relationships and his command of the Spanish Language. He regularly works with entrepreneurs in various capacities including but not limited to, financial statements review and general business structure evaluations, with the goal to identify best business practices and assure their continued growth; as well as, assisting the regional office with qualifying those clients who are in need of funding. He is also responsible for organizing and conducting seminars for startup and established businesses.
Juan has almost 10 years of small business banking experience covering a broad range of areas, including financial analysis and merchant business.
Prior to joining the NJSBDC at NJCU, Juan worked for HSBC Bank as a Business Specialist where he was responsible for developing and managing profitable businesses relationships. He effectively profiled new businesses and assisted them in meeting their needs and goals. He worked closely with Business Bankers in creating analytical research reports and contributing to the development of new tactics that generated business. In addition, Juan was a Merchant Services Account Executive at Sovereign Bank. His responsibilities included general marketing within targeted areas, financial assessments, and customer service.
Community Outreach & Employer Engagement
Karen McIntyre is the Community Outreach & Employer Engagement at the NJ Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at New Jersey City University (NJCU) in Hudson County.
Karen is the a Jersey City resident for over 25 years and a licensed Realtor. She guides both residential and commercial property clients, from assessment of budgetary needs and location suitability to the execution of contracts. She successfully negotiated the first Urgent Care Center, NOWMed, on the West Side of Jersey City.
In 2007, Karen was appointed to the Jersey City Planning Board, ending her final 8 year term as Vice Chairwoman. As Vice Chairwoman, Karen reconciled planning and community concerns with the needs of the developer, while interpreting the goals of the Jersey City Master Plan through administration, planning and development objectives. In 2011, she was appointed to the Jersey City Environmental Commission and continued to support green, public and recreational space, as well as, Leed certified buildings and projects.
Karen founded a website branding and development company in 1999, which produced internet properties specializing in high end restaurant groups with multiple concepts and locations. Projects executed from conception of brand identity to the customization of e-commerce web applications and development of wine databases.
Since 1996, Karen has been providing managerial, training and creative support for the family-owned Jersey City restaurant – Iron Monkey.
Christian Pichardo is the Marketing Director at the NJ Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at New Jersey City University (NJCU) in Hudson County. He specializes in digital marketing, e-commerce, branding, and marketing planning and is responsible for regional marketing campaigns, event management, and marketing consultations.
Christian has over 4 years of experience in digital marketing and consulting small businesses on online tactics and strategy. Having several entrepreneurial ventures under his belt within e-commerce, fashion, and digital marketing services industries, he has a wide array of experiences he taps into when consulting with the small businesses at the NJSBDC.
He achieved an A.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Marketing. In addition, Christian holds a certification in Digital Marketing and Social Media Marketing.
Prior to joining NJSBDC at NJCU, Christian worked 5 years in sales and management with a small family carpeting business and the billion-dollar storage company, ‘Extra Space Storage.’ He likes to apply strategies and tactics of large corporate entities to local small businesses for explosive growth.

Senior Business Consultant
Ryan Silvestre is a Senior Business Consultant at the NJ Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at New Jersey City University (NJCU) in Hudson County, specializing in corporate finance and turnaround management. He has also assisted in developing and implementing programs for Spanish speaking entrepreneurs.
Ryan has over 10 years of corporate finance experience covering a broad range of transaction types in different industries, including but not limited to, debt and equity raises, recapitalization, valuation modeling and has assisted on several middle market M&A and LBO deals.
Prior to joining the Center, Ryan was an Investment Banker and Business Development Officer with a boutique commercial finance firm owned by Morgan Stanley on Wall Street. He was responsible for establishing new national relationships using their AR Facilities, ABL, and equity services. He also worked closely with senior C level directors in creating analytical research reports and contributing to the development of the marketing plan for the company.
During his college years and after his graduation, Ryan worked with a small business broker where he was responsible for debt and equity placement with a focus on real estate and working capital loans. He also provided basic forensic accounting services to help develop greater efficiencies in the operations of small businesses allowing them to become more bankable. Lastly, he was also responsible for training and managing new sales hire.
Assistant Operations Director
Uzma Shaikh is an Assistant Operations Director at the NJ Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) at New Jersey City University (NJCU) in Hudson County. With the Operations Director, Uzma manages the Center’s operational efforts.
Prior to joining NJSBDC at NJCU, Uzma shortly worked at the Mayor’s Office in Jersey City as a Social Media Intern. Enrolled in the Business Honors Program at NJCU, Uzma is currently a Senior pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a concentration in Public Relations.
